When I worked in the UNT web services office, I wrote a simple script to fix certain aspects of websites after they had been moved. When used correctly, the script worked great —but the slightest mistake would tear the poor website to shreds. One of my colleagues nicknamed it "The Mangler," and the name stuck with me as I began work on this uptempo terror of a chart. It's built to sound familiar but wrong —“Rhythm changes” that suddenly change keys or drop a bar, a fullband soli in three different time signatures at once, and of course plenty of screaming (trumpet) provide lots of thrills as the chart progresses.
